The 21st Holland Koi Show. Which prizes were won by Yoshikigoi Farm?
How unique is unique?
Let’s start this article with a cliché “Three times is a charm!” When you read the text below you will immediately understand why this cliché is used. We are already hoping to post yet another cliché article next year … Hopefully the title will be “four in a row”!
Below you can see a picture of the official “press” moment. During the podium ceremony a proud Jos Aben and his granddaughter Jill, on behalf Yoshikigoi Farm, received the Award for the Most Unique Koi in the show. Yoshikigoi won this award for the third time in a row! So in 2011, 2012 and 2013 the award for the Most Unique Koi during the Holland Koi Show went to Yoshikigoi Farm, what will 2014 bring?
We can state with certainty that this koi is very unique. You do not see a ginrin goromo ochiba every day. Not even weekly, monthly or even annually. The judges were truly amazed not only about the variety but also about the quality of this specific koi. We had a brief talk with Bernie Woollands, a prominent jury member from England, who assured us that he had never seen an koi like this one before. Also Mike Harvey, the always smiling judge from South Africa, was surprised to see an appearance like this, it was the first ginrin goromo ochiba he ever layed his eyes on. Judges kept showing up at the Yoshikigoi vat and each and every one of them was very impressed by this koi. After some time subsequently Mikami and Saito San gave their approval and Yoshikigoi Farm was able to add yet another Most Unique Award to the already well-stocked trophy cabinet.
Onwards to next year!
