As usual Jos Aben and Ernst Driessen of Yoshikigoi Farm will be awarding a Friendship Award to a certain koi entered in the Holland Koi Show. Just like almost every year Jos and Ernst will be choosing a specific group and / or koi from a group. However this year will be slightly different from other years. The Yoshikigoi Friendship Award will be given to a koi which is owned by a hobbyist, nothing new there. The only thing which is different this year is the fact that the award will not be handed out to the best koi in variety but this time we have chosen to give the award to the best koi in a group of koi. We chose the Go Sanke group and then more specifically the award will go to the very best Go Sanke under 50cm.
As you probably know the Go Sanke group consists of the Kohaku, Sanke and Showa. These koi which form the Go Sanke class have traditionally been the most classic koi out there.
It can not be a coincidence that an old saying came to mind… “the hobby begins and ends with Kohaku.”
We wonder if you will be able to choose the same koi as Jos and Ernst.
